About
The Practitioner
Joy completed her initial Bowen training in 1997 and is a fully registered member of The Bowen Association UK. She has qualifications in the field of counselling, addiction based work, Thermo Auricular Therapy (Ear Candling), and Massage, and is a member of the Complementary Therapists Association (CThA).
As well as her private practice within the Dorset area (see Contacts for clinic details), Joy works with a diverse range of client groups in a variety of settings. Having developed her own unique style, each session is tailored to meet individual requirements.
Over the past few years, Joy has adapted the technique to be delivered within groups, primarily as a relief for stress, anxiety and tension. She has successfully been using this style of delivery for use with individuals which include: addiction issues; family and carers; care homes, and within healthcare settings. (Please note that this is NOT group therapy, but therapy within a group setting, and individuals participating receive additional support).
The enjoyment of working with people of all ages, together with the experience she has gained so far, assists Joy to give a fully integrated approach as a Bowen Practitioner. She acknowledges all the wonderful trainers, practitioners, and (most importantly) clients she has had the good fortune to work with who have taught her so much, in so many ways, and who continue to do so. She would also like to thank Thomas Ambrose Bowen for sharing his gift that has changed so many lives around the world.
